Visit The Luxembourg and Greater Region – European Capital of Culture 2007

In 2007, the concept of European Capital of Culture will enjoy a novel dimension: for the first time, not just a city but an entire region, the Greater Region, will be the focal point of everyone’s attention. Thus, at Luxembourg’s side, the neighbouring areas of Lorraine, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland and Wallonia will forget their respective borders and will unite in exhibiting their cultural diversity and creative potential.

Throughout the year, a fast moving cultural programme characterized by inter-linking highlights will embody the creative energy of the Greater Region. Geographic or cultural frontiers will be forgotten – in thought and deed. The programme will thus offer visitors as well as participants a panoply of opportunities to discover and become part of the European Capital of Culture 2007. This can be through the variety of outstanding exhibitions and wide choice of drama and musical events, or the exploration of the natural and cultural heritage of a region centrally placed at the heart of Europe
