Ambassador Jean-Paul Senninger
Visits Wheaton College
On January 15, 2009, Luxembourg Ambassador to the United
States, Jean-Paul Senninger, gave a lecture at Wheaton College
titled “Integrating with the European Union: Luxembourg’s
Economic and Financial Markets.” Ambassador Senninger has
served as Luxembourg's Ambassador to the United States since
August 18, 2008. Ambassador Senninger has previously served
as ambassador to Nicaragua, Spain and Turkey. Ambassador
Senninger’s lecture focused on the process of Luxembourg’s
integration with the European Union (EU),
including Luxembourg’s efforts to modify its financial system
in order to meet EU guidelines.

Wheaton College--located in Wheaton,
Illinois--is the alma mater of former United
States Speaker of the House, J. Dennis Hastert, a fellow
Luxembourger. Ambassador Senninger's lecture was sponsored by
Wheaton College’s Hastert Center for Economics, Government,
and Public Policy, which serves to help students and
professionals, from different backgrounds and having various
interests, to understand the interaction between economics and
public life.
